Rental Terms, Conditions, and Procedures

At Lucie Wedding Dresses, we are dedicated to providing clients with a seamless and memorable experience for their special day. The rental policies are designed to ensure the careful handling of wedding dresses while allowing customers to enjoy their wedding day without stress. Please take a moment to review the terms and conditions below, which help ensure the best service possible. 


1. Rental Agreement

  • A formal rental agreement must be signed before the dress is taken.
  • The rental period is typically 4 days, with the option to extend for an additional fee. 
  • Rental orders are confirmed once the full rental fee is paid.


2. Reservation and Fees

  • Booking fee: A 50% booking fee of the rental price is required to reserve the dress. 
  • Security deposit: In addition to the rental fee, a security deposit of Rs 15 000 is required at the time of gown collection. The deposit will be refunded when the gown is returned in its original condition after an inspection, minus any applicable cleaning, repair, or late fees.  
  • The final payment for the dress rental is due when you pick up your dress. 


3. Rental Period

  • The standard rental period is 4 days, which includes the pick-up and return dates.
  • The dress must be returned on or before the agreed return date.
  • A late fee of Rs 2 000 per day will be charged for any rental extension beyond the agreed rental period.
  • The dress should be returned in the garment bag provided and in the same condition it was received.


4. Dress Fitting and Alterations

  • Fitting Appointments: A fitting appointment is required before the wedding to ensure the dress fits properly. Small alterations may be available for an additional fee.
  • Alteration Costs:  The renter is responsible for the costs of any alterations required beyond normal wear (including repairs from damage during the rental period). 


5. Damage, Loss, or Theft

  • The renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the dress during the rental period.
    • Minor Damage: If the dress is returned with minor damage (e.g., small stains that are easy to clean), no repair charges will apply. 
    • Major Damage or Loss: If the dress is severely damaged (e.g., large stains, rips, missing pieces, heavy odor), lost, or stolen, the renter will be charged the full cost of replacing the dress. This charge will be based on the dress’s retail price, which is always listed on the dress tags, minus the security deposit. 


6. Cleaning

  • The rental fee includes professional cleaning. 



7. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Booking fee:  If the order is canceled more than 30 days in advance, 50% of the booking fee will be refunded. If the order is canceled within 10 days of the rental date, the booking fee is non-refundable. However, we are happy to assist you with rescheduling your rental or selecting a different gown. 
  • Exchange Policy: Customers may request to exchange their selected gown for another style within the same price range before the rental period begins, subject to availability.


8. Dress Availability and Substitution

  • Although we will do our best to ensure your dress is available for your event, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally occur. 
  • In such cases, we will offer you a comparable or better alternative for the same initial rental price or a full refund. 


9. Liability

  • Lucie Wedding Dresses is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur while wearing the rental dress.
  • The renter assumes full responsibility for wearing the dress and ensuring that it is appropriate for the event.


10. Customer Responsibilities

  • The renter must ensure the dress fits and is suitable for the event upon final fitting.
  • The renter is responsible for ensuring that the dress is returned on time and in the same condition as it was rented.
